Letter to municipal councillors, March 2018

Click through to read our Hydraulic Fracturing letter to municipal councillors in response to Guysborough warden Vernon Pitts’ push for municipalities to request that Nova Scotia’s ban on hydraulic fracturing in shale be lifted.

This letter rebuts Pitts’ assertions that fracking would result in vast economic benefits for the people of Nova Scotia, and that lifting the ban to allow investors to undertake a pilot project could allow us to determine whether shale gas development involving fracking can be done safely.
